The Just Innovation Transition

Successful adoption requires attention to how technology changes tasks, responsibilities, risks and the capabilities people need to perform their work. We advocate five practical priorities.

01

Protect people

Assess how a proposed change affects exposure to risk and the systems used to manage it.

02

Prepare the workforce

Make communication, learning and employee participation part of the transition.

03

Establish the operating fit

Consider existing equipment, work practices, site conditions and support requirements.

04

Maintain accountability

Define responsibilities and the evidence needed to assess implementation.

05

Evaluate the result

Assess whether the intervention addresses the problem it was intended to solve.
